PicoServer — Privacy Policy

The short version: PicoServer does not collect, transmit, or sell any of your
data. Everything the app does happens on your device and on your own Wi-Fi.

DEVELOPER
PicoServer is developed by Dzianis Milasheuski, an individual developer based in

WHAT WE COLLECT
Nothing. PicoServer has no analytics, no ads, no accounts, and no servers that
receive your data. There is no sign-up and no login. We do not know who you are,
which folders you share, or who connects to them.

HOW THE APP WORKS
- You pick a folder and the app serves it to devices on your local network over
  HTTP or WebDAV. Your files are never uploaded to us or to anyone else; they
  are read from the folder to answer a request from a device on your network.
- The folder is not copied or indexed. The app stores a security-scoped
  bookmark — a pointer that lets it reopen the folder you granted access to.
- Photo previews are generated on your device with Apple's ImageIO framework and
  cached in the app's own cache directory. No image leaves the device for this.
- Server settings and the Activity log are stored on your device. The log is a
  rolling, capped list of served requests — method, path, status, byte count,
  and the local IP address of the device that connected. You can clear it.
- Passwords you set for a server and the private key of the self-signed HTTPS
  certificate are kept in the iOS Keychain with the "when unlocked, this device
  only" protection class: they are not in iCloud Keychain and do not leave the
  device.
- To let guests reach the server by name, the app advertises a Bonjour service
  on your local network. The advertisement carries the server name you chose and
  the port number, and nothing else.

WHAT LEAVES YOUR DEVICE
Only what you serve and what you export yourself, and only where you send it.
Nothing is sent automatically, and nothing is sent to us. Remember that a
running server is an open door on that network: anyone who can reach your device
and knows the address can open the shared folder unless you set a password, and
if you enable write or delete access, guests can add or remove files. You choose
the folder, the network, and the permissions.

PERMISSIONS
Local Network access is required so that other devices on your Wi-Fi can reach
the server and find it by name. iOS asks for it the first time you start a
server; the app shows its own explanation screen before that system prompt. The
permission is used only to accept incoming connections and to advertise the
server on the network you are on — it is not used to scan the network, and
nothing about your network is recorded or transmitted. You can revoke it at any
time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network.

PURCHASES
PicoServer Pro is sold through Apple's In-App Purchase, as a subscription
(monthly or yearly) or a one-time Lifetime purchase. Apple, not the developer,
processes payment. We receive no personal or payment information. You can manage
or cancel a subscription in Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions on your
device.

YOUR RIGHTS
Because the app collects no personal information on the developer's side, there
is no developer-held data for you to access, correct, export, or delete.
- Data stored on your device can be removed by deleting the app, or item by item
  inside it: servers can be deleted and the Activity log can be cleared.
- Passwords and the HTTPS key held in the Keychain are removed with the app.
- An active subscription can be cancelled in your Apple Account subscriptions.

CHILDREN
PicoServer is a file-sharing and developer utility. It is not directed at
children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect any data from
children.

REGULATORY NOTES
The app is designed so that no directly identifying personal information (name,
email, IP address, advertising identifier, account ID) is collected by the
developer or by any third party the developer uses. Where Apple acts as a
processor for purchases, those activities are governed by Apple's own privacy
policy. Any personal data that arises while you use the app — the guest IP
addresses in the Activity log, or the contents of the folder you share — is
processed on your device and under your control; if you use the app in a
professional or organisational context, you may be the controller of that data
under applicable law.
