# Privacy Policy

PocketActual ("the app") is a native iOS client for [Actual Budget](https://actualbudget.org/), a self-hosted personal finance application. This privacy policy explains how the app handles your data.

## Summary

PocketActual does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data with the developer or any third party. All data stays on your device and your own server.

## Data Storage

The app stores the following data locally on your device:

- **Budget database** — a local SQLite copy of your Actual Budget data, stored in your device's Documents directory
- **Server settings** — your Actual Budget server URL and file/budget IDs, stored in UserDefaults
- **Authentication token** — your session token for your Actual Budget server, stored in UserDefaults
- **Custom HTTP headers** — optional proxy or authentication headers for your server, stored in the device Keychain

None of this data is accessible to the developer or any third party.

## Network Communication

The app communicates exclusively with the Actual Budget server that **you** configure and host. No data is sent to any server operated by the developer. The app does not use any third-party analytics, crash reporting, or advertising SDKs.

## Demo Mode

The app includes a demo mode for testing. In demo mode, a local database is created on your device and no network connections are made.

## Data Deletion

To delete all app data, delete the app from your device. This removes the local budget database, server settings, and all stored credentials.

## Children's Privacy

The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from children.

## Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted in the app's GitHub repository and the updated date above will be revised.
