# Privacy policy

Annotator does not send any data to the developer or to any other person or company, whatsoever. All highlights, notes and settings are stored locally, in your browser's extension storage on your device.

- **No network requests.** The extension ships its fonts and icons inside the package, so opening it doesn't contact any server (including font or favicon services).
- **No account, no analytics, no tracking.**
- **Page access** is used only to draw your highlights on the pages you annotate and to let you create new ones. The quoted text you highlight is stored locally together with your note.
- **Uninstalling** the extension removes all of its data from the browser.

If a future version adds optional sync between devices, it will be off by default, end-to-end encrypted on your device before anything is uploaded, and this policy will be updated before it ships.
