# Product roadmap

EasyX Viewer is independent from EasyX Downloader. The integration boundary will be a versioned HTTP API, never direct access to Downloader's SQLite database.

## Foundation — in progress

- Filesystem index, URL-backed library filters, playback, thumbnails, animated hover previews, favorites, history, completion state, and resume
- Single self-contained viewer image with automatic GHCR publishing

## Library management

- Editable performers, studios, tags, scenes, galleries, and relationships
- Saved filters, playlists, ratings, and bulk editing
- Exact duplicate detection, similar-media review, and recoverable trash
- Metadata import and export, sidecars, and scheduled maintenance

## Rich media

- HLS fallback for browser-incompatible codecs
- Timeline scrubbing sprites, chapters, and gallery navigation
- Queue-based FFmpeg workers with resource limits

## EasyX suite bridge

- API tokens and authenticated LAN communication
- Downloader webhook after a completed download
- Incremental single-path ingestion instead of full scans
- Shared performer/source identifiers through a documented interchange schema

## Administration

- Multi-user accounts, permissions, audit log, backups, and restore
- Plugin API for metadata providers and library automation
