# Sansad — Indian Election Strategy Game > A browser-based turn-based political strategy game set in 2024 India. Command a real party, manage alliances, place candidates across 543 Lok Sabha seats, and try to win a parliamentary majority. --- ## What Is This? Sansad is a work-in-progress political simulation game built around the 2024 Indian General Election. You pick a real party — BJP, Congress, AAP, TMC, SP, and more — and fight your way to 272 seats across 7 turns of campaign decisions. Every action has a cost, alliances are fragile, and an AI advisor comments on your strategy turn by turn. This is a solo side project. Not affiliated with any political party or institution. The goal is to make Indian politics legible and interesting — like a Civilization game but set inside the actual Lok Sabha framework. --- ## Gameplay Overview ### Party Selection ![](public/screenshots/01_party_setup.png) Choose from all major real Indian parties with their actual 2024 seat counts, alliance blocs, ideologies, and regional strongholds. Play Historical 2024 mode with a real party, or Quick Play with generic factions. Three difficulty levels: Simple, Realistic, Complex. --- ### Pre-Campaign Setup **Solo mode** — pick exactly which of the 543 Lok Sabha seats you want to contest. Your 2024 seats are pre-highlighted. A cold-start penalty applies in states where you have no existing footprint. ![](public/screenshots/I.jpeg) **Alliance mode** — form coalitions with other parties. Seat-sharing negotiations run round by round. Deadlocked seats go to both_contest — both parties campaign and the vote splits. --- ### Candidate System Over 5,000 candidates across all 543 constituencies, each with 30+ attributes including popularity, loyalty, betrayal risk, ground network, and incumbency. ![](public/screenshots/H.jpeg) The AI pre-assigns candidates. You lock strong picks, swap weaker ones, and review risky seats before declaring. ![](public/screenshots/G.jpeg) Denied candidates defect — switching parties, going independent, or demanding alternate seats. Media backlash events fire for high-profile denials. ![](public/screenshots/E.jpeg) --- ### Campaign Launch A Flash News modal fires at campaign start with categorised breaking headlines — party switches, rebels, ticket denials, new alliances. ![](public/screenshots/D.jpeg) --- ### Campaign Map & Turns Full interactive India map with all 543 constituency polygons. Click any seat for its detail panel. Box-drag to select regions. 7 turns across 4 phases. 12 action types: rallies, sabotage, caste outreach, bribery, candidate poaching, and more. ![](public/screenshots/C.jpeg) An AI advisor lives in the right panel — commenting on your position each turn, answering questions, and tracking your playstyle archetype over time. --- ### Alliance Management The Alliance HQ panel shows coalition composition, majority progress, and affinity indicators. Negotiate vote support agreements mid-campaign. If tension gets too high, the coalition collapses and rebels form new fronts. ![](public/screenshots/A.jpeg) --- ### End Game Win condition: 272 seats out of 543.
