# Privacy Policy for Native Player **Effective Date:** September 10, 2026 **Last Updated:** September 10, 2026 **Application:** Native Player (`com.nativeplayer.videoplayer`) **Developer:** Raj Parmar ([rajparmar701942@gmail.com](mailto:rajparmar701942@gmail.com)) **Source Repository:** [https://github.com/rajparmar07/StreamCache_VideoPlayer](https://github.com/rajparmar07/StreamCache_VideoPlayer) --- ## 1. Overview This Privacy Policy applies to the **Native Player** mobile application (hereinafter referred to as the "App", "Application", or "Service"), developed by **Raj Parmar**. Native Player is an open-source, privacy-first offline video player and network stream client for Android. Your privacy is paramount: **Native Player does not collect, record, transmit, sell, or share any personal information or sensitive user data of any kind.** --- ## 2. Information Collection and Use ### No Personal Data Collection Native Player operates entirely without user accounts, profiles, registration, or logins. We do **not** collect: - Names, email addresses, phone numbers, or physical addresses - Device identifiers (IMEI, Android ID, MAC address, Advertising ID) - Precise or approximate geolocation data - Contacts, browsing history, or biometric data ### Local-Only Data Storage All data generated by your use of the App—such as: - Video playback progress and history ("Resume from last left") - Custom playlists and bookmarked media - App appearance and playback preferences - Locally cached video thumbnails is stored **strictly on your device** within the application's private SQLite/Room database and local cache directories. This data never leaves your device and is never transmitted to any external server. --- ## 3. Device Permissions & How They Are Used Native Player requests only the minimum permissions necessary to deliver core media playback and file management functionality. Permissions are never used for data harvesting or tracking. | Permission | Technical Name | Purpose & Usage | | **Photos & Videos / Storage** | `READ_MEDIA_VIDEO`, `READ_MEDIA_VISUAL_USER_SELECTED`, `READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE` | Used exclusively to scan, display, and play local video files on your device storage. File modifications (such as rename, move, and delete) use official Android Scoped Storage MediaStore user-consent prompts without requiring broad All Files access. Video files are processed strictly on your device. | | **Network & Internet Access** | `INTERNET`, `ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE` | Used solely when you explicitly choose to play a remote network stream URL (HTTP, HTTPS, HLS `.m3u8`, RTSP, DASH) or download a remote video file to your local device storage. No telemetry or analytics data is transmitted. | | **Notifications** | `POST_NOTIFICATIONS` | Used on Android 13 (API 33) and above exclusively to display active media playback controls and background download progress in the system notification shade. | | **Foreground Service** | `FOREGROUND_SERVICE`, `FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MEDIA_PLAYBACK` | Used to ensure smooth, uninterrupted audio playback in Picture-in-Picture (PiP) mode and to complete active user-initiated video downloads in the background. | | **Wake Lock** | `WAKE_LOCK` | Keeps the device screen active during continuous video playback so the display does not unexpectedly turn off while watching a video. | --- ## 4. Third-Party Services & Tracking - **No Analytics or Telemetry:** Native Player contains **no** analytics SDKs (such as Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, Mixpanel, or Flurry). - **No Advertising:** Native Player contains **no** advertising networks or ad frameworks (such as Google AdMob, Unity Ads, AppLovin, or Meta Audience Network). - **No Tracking Beacons:** We do not track user behavior across apps, websites, or services. ### Open-Source Libraries The App incorporates standard, audited open-source software libraries (such as AndroidX Media3 ExoPlayer, Jellyfin FFmpeg Decoders, Jetpack Compose, and Coil). These libraries operate locally on your device to decode media and render user interfaces, and do not collect or exfiltrate personal data. --- ## 5. Network Streams & User-Provided URLs When you use the **Network Stream** or **Download** features: - The App establishes a direct connection between your device and the remote URL you provide. - Native Player does not route your traffic through intermediary proxy servers or log the URLs you stream or download. - We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party streaming servers or content providers you choose to access. --- ## 6. Children’s Privacy (COPPA & GDPR Compliance) Native Player does not knowingly collect, store, or solicit personal information from children under the age of 13 (or under the age of 16 in the European Union). Because the Application does not collect any personal data from any user, it is fully compliant with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). --- ## 7. Data Retention & Deletion Since Native Player does not collect or transmit your data to remote servers, we do not hold your data on any server. You retain complete control over your local data on your device: - **Clear Cache:** You can clear the thumbnail and memory cache at any time inside the App (**Settings → Memory & Cache → Clear Cache**). - **Reset Preferences:** Clearing the App's storage via **Android Settings → Apps → Native Player → Storage → Clear Data** will permanently remove all local playlists, progress records, and settings from your device. - **Uninstalling:** Uninstalling the Application automatically removes all private application data from your device. --- ## 8. Changes to This Privacy Policy We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in app functionality or legal requirements. Any modifications will be posted directly to this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically. --- ## 9.
