The reason the Diversity and Inclusion CoP fell asleep at its early stage is that the incident in Gitega that involved 24 people has caused more woes within the LGBTQI+ community in Burundi. Amongst the 24 imprisoned, 1 died in captivity, 4 have been sentenced a year and others have been liberated later January 2024.
