# Engage Retention Engine

The **Razorpay Engage Retention Engine** is a customer retention mechanism consisting of **Digital Wallets** and **Loyalty Points**, helping you to retain customers in your ecommerce ecosystem. This powerful platform seamlessly integrates with your existing Razorpay Payment Gateway to incentivise repeat purchases, retain customers, streamline refunds and reward loyalty points while enhancing payment experiences and transforming one-time buyers into loyal customers. 

### How Wallets Work

- Branded Store Wallets are created automatically for customers during the first purchase.
- During an instance of refund, the customer gets an option to choose between refund to wallet or source account. Choosing refund to wallet makes the process quicker and seamless as the customer is spared from checking the bank account and waiting for refund credits. Refunds are instant whereas refund to source may take up to 7 days.
- Wallet balance appears as payment option during purchase which saves the time and process of having to route payments through cards, netbanking or UPI.

### How Loyalty Points Work

- Customer wallets are credited with reward points for each purchase based on the campaign rules set through your Dashboard. 
- Cashback credits are added to customer wallets for reviews and engagement as per the rules you set.
- Customers redeem the accumulated points for future purchases during checkout.
