Instructions

BattleSea is a remake of a popular paper game of the similar name - battleships. The goal is to destroy enemy's fleet before he destroys ours. Apart from nice graphics and easy control, the added value is the SMS mode which allows you to play with your friend somewhere else. Have fun Commander! How to control the game

Deployment

Before starting the game all your ships must be deployed onto the game board. You can do it manually by sliding the ship from the "shipyard" in the bottom left corner to the desired place on the board. Whenever you can drop the ship on board you can see green highlight under it. If there is no way to drop the ship the red highlight will be shown on the board. If you drop a ship on the red marked area it will be returned to the shipyard. You can rotate a ship that is already deployed on the board. To perform rotation just double tap it. But remember - if the rotation would cause that the ship occupies the fields where it cannot be placed it will be returned back to the shipyard. However if you double tap the ship and do not release your finger from the screen (after second tap) you will have the ship rotated and you can move it around the board.

If you don't want to slide all the ships onto the board it is just enough to tap the dices icon and all your ships will be deployed randomly. Of course you can change the deployment by changing your ships positions. Important: if your press random deployment but you already have some of your ships on the board then your ships positions will be discarded (all of your ships will be placed randomly, not only those which are not deployed yet).

When you deploy all your ships on the board just tap "Done" button.

Firing

To fire you must specify the field which you want to target. To do this just tap the field and you will see the crosshair on it. Alternatively you can use the track ball to move the crosshair. In your turn just roll the trackball and the crosshair will appear on the board.

If you already placed the crosshair on the desired field just tap the "fire" button or press the trackball.

Switching the boards

As you will see when the turn ends the boards are swapped to let you take your shot or to show you where your opponent took his. You can also swap the board manually to see, for instance, what is the situation on the other board. To do it just slide one board onto another. It doesn't matter if you slide big board onto small one or vice versa, the boards will be swapped. Important: you must press one board, slide to another and then release your finger. Another way to swap the boards is to tap red "swap button" located near both boards.

Game Rules

Because there are many different versions of battleships game there is a need to explain the rules that are used in our game.
There are 10 ships to deploy divided into 4 groups:
Each ship occupies a number of consecutive squares on the grid, arranged either horizontally or vertically. Ships cannot be placed one directly next to other and cannot overlap as well. There must be at least one-field space between their bodies. Every player shots a single shot per his turn. In case the player hits opponent's ship then the next turn remains his turn (and he shots again). In case the player misses his shot then the turn switches to his opponent's one.
