# Privacy Policy for Real Brand Kit

Real Brand Kit (“the extension”) is a Chrome extension that captures the visible visual system of a webpage you choose to scan and saves brand kits on your device.

## Summary

Real Brand Kit does not transmit, sell, or share personal information. Analysis and kits stay on your device. The extension does not use Google APIs to access browsing history or account data.

## Data stored locally

Analysis runs only after you press **Scan**. Full page HTML and font binaries are never stored.

## Data not collected

Real Brand Kit does not collect:

- Names, email addresses, or account information
- Browsing history outside the active tab you scan
- Location data
- Health, financial, or authentication information
- Analytics, advertising identifiers, or usage telemetry
- Cookies or similar tracking technologies

## How the extension works

- Computed CSS values and visible asset metadata are read from the active tab after Scan
- Kits and preferences stay in extension storage on this device
- Exports (CSS, JSON, brand board) download only when you choose Download
- No remote scripts, fonts, images, or configuration files are fetched

## Permissions

- **activeTab** — read the current tab after you start a scan
- **scripting** — inject the local scanner when you press Scan
- **storage** — save preferences on this device
- **downloads** — save exports you request
- **sidePanel** — show the scanning UI

Real Brand Kit makes **no network requests** in the MVP.

Real Brand Kit does **not** change Chrome search settings and does not replace the new-tab page.

## Chrome Web Store User Data Policy

Real Brand Kit is designed to comply with the [Chrome Web Store User Data Policy](https://developer.chrome.com/docs/webstore/program-policies/user-data-faq), including Limited Use requirements. Local kits and preferences are used only to provide the brand-kit feature.

## Children’s privacy

Real Brand Kit does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

## Changes to this policy

If this privacy policy changes, the “Last updated” date at the top will be revised.
