# Privacy Policy for Real Campaign Checker

Real Campaign Checker (“the extension”) is a Chrome extension that validates campaign/UTM links on a page you choose to scan, entirely on your device.

## Summary

Real Campaign Checker does not transmit, sell, or share personal information. Link validation stays on your device. The extension does not use Google APIs to access browsing history or account data.

## Data stored locally

Scanned URLs and anchor text are processed in memory for the active session and are not persisted after the side panel closes.

## Data not collected

Real Campaign Checker does not collect:

- Names, email addresses, or account information
- Browsing history outside the active tab you scan
- Location data
- Health, financial, or authentication information
- Analytics, advertising identifiers, or usage telemetry
- Cookies or similar tracking technologies

## How the extension works

- Visible links on the active tab are read after you press **Scan**
- UTM and campaign parameters are validated against your local rules
- Suggested fixes are copied to the clipboard when you choose Copy — page links are never rewritten
- CSV export downloads only when you choose Download
- No remote scripts, fonts, or configuration files are fetched
- No HTTP status or analytics network checks

## Permissions

- **activeTab** — read visible links when you press Scan
- **scripting** — inject the local link collector for that scan
- **storage** — save your link rules locally
- **downloads** — save CSV reports you request
- **sidePanel** — show the LinkCheck panel

Real Campaign Checker makes **no network requests** in the MVP.

Real Campaign Checker does **not** change Chrome search settings and does not replace the new-tab page.

## Chrome Web Store User Data Policy

Real Campaign Checker is designed to comply with the [Chrome Web Store User Data Policy](https://developer.chrome.com/docs/webstore/program-policies/user-data-faq), including Limited Use requirements. Local rules are used only to provide link validation.

## Children’s privacy

Real Campaign Checker does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

## Changes to this policy

If this privacy policy changes, the “Last updated” date at the top will be revised.
