# Privacy Policy for Real SEO Report

Real SEO Report (“the extension”) is a Chrome extension that audits on-page SEO signals on a page you choose to scan and builds a client-ready report on your device.

## Summary

Real SEO Report does not transmit, sell, or share personal information. Scans and reports stay on your device. The extension does not use Google APIs to access browsing history or account data.

## Data stored locally

Analysis runs only after you press **Scan**. Full page HTML is not persisted.

## Data not collected

Real SEO Report does not collect:

- Names, email addresses, or account information (beyond labels you optionally type for a report)
- Browsing history outside the active tab you scan
- Location data
- Health, financial, or authentication information
- Analytics, advertising identifiers, or usage telemetry
- Cookies or similar tracking technologies

## How the extension works

- On-page metadata, headings, images, links, social tags, and structured-data text are read from the active tab after Scan
- Structured data is parsed safely (`JSON.parse` only); scripts are never executed
- Reports and branding stay in extension storage on this device
- HTML/CSV downloads happen only when you choose Download
- Documentation links open only when you click them
- No remote scripts, fonts, or configuration files are fetched

## Permissions

- **activeTab** — review this page when you press Scan
- **scripting** — inject the local snapshot/highlight scripts for that scan
- **storage** — save reports and branding on this device
- **downloads** — save HTML/CSV reports you request
- **sidePanel** — show the audit UI

Real SEO Report makes **no background network requests** in the MVP.

Real SEO Report does **not** change Chrome search settings and does not replace the new-tab page.

Scores are an automated on-page review, not a ranking guarantee.

## Chrome Web Store User Data Policy

Real SEO Report is designed to comply with the [Chrome Web Store User Data Policy](https://developer.chrome.com/docs/webstore/program-policies/user-data-faq), including Limited Use requirements. Local reports and branding are used only to provide the audit and report feature.

## Children’s privacy

Real SEO Report does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

## Changes to this policy

If this privacy policy changes, the “Last updated” date at the top will be revised.
