# Commercial Use Policy This document is a plain-English guide for commercial use of Ghost Arcade Community. It is not legal advice and it does not replace the AGPL-3.0-or-later license in `LICENSE` or the trademark rules in `TRADEMARKS.md`. ## The short version You may use Ghost Arcade Community for commercial creative work. Paid shows, client visuals, installations, live streams, recordings, tutorials, workshops, and content made with the app are allowed. Risk Capital Media LLC does not claim ownership of the visuals, recordings, project files, performances, or other content you create with the app just because you used Ghost Arcade Community. You may not use the official Ghost Arcade brand to sell or promote unofficial builds, forks, bundles, services, or app store listings in a way that makes people think they are official Risk Capital Media LLC products. ## Allowed commercial uses You may use Ghost Arcade Community for: - paid VJ sets, concerts, theater, installations, galleries, festivals, and corporate events - client work, commissioned visuals, and projection mapping jobs - streaming, recording, exporting, selling, or licensing content you created with the app - internal business use - paid tutorials, classes, workshops, or consulting - creating and selling original project files, presets, shaders, templates, or media packs, subject to the rights in any third-party material you include - modifying the app for your own use ## When source-sharing rules matter Ghost Arcade Community is licensed under AGPL-3.0-or-later. If you modify the app and distribute your modified version, you must follow the AGPL requirements, including providing the corresponding source code under the same license. If you modify the app and let users interact with it over a network, the AGPL also requires you to offer those users the corresponding source code. If you only use the unmodified app to create visuals, run a show, make a recording, or serve clients, that activity does not by itself require you to publish your own show files, media, recordings, or client work. ## What is not allowed without permission Without written permission from Risk Capital Media LLC, you may not: - sell or list an unofficial build using the name `Ghost Arcade`, `Ghost Arcade Community`, or `Ghost Arcade Pro` - use official logos, icons, screenshots, release artwork, or update channels as the primary branding for your fork or commercial bundle - claim that your fork, installer, service, course, support package, or app store listing is official or endorsed by Risk Capital Media LLC - remove copyright, license, attribution, or source-offer notices required by the AGPL - distribute closed-source modifications of the Community Edition under the AGPL license - copy code, assets, or features from the closed-source Pro edition unless you have separate written permission ## Selling services around the app You may charge for honest services around Ghost Arcade Community, such as: - installing the app for a venue - building a show file for a client - writing original shaders or templates - training a team - supporting your own fork - hosting a modified version, if you comply with the AGPL network source requirements Make your relationship clear. A good commercial listing says who you are, what you provide, and that Ghost Arcade Community is an AGPL-licensed project from Risk Capital Media LLC. ## Fork names Forks and commercial derivatives should use a distinct name and visual identity. You can say "based on Ghost Arcade Community" in a factual way, but the main product name should be yours. Suggested wording: > Built on Ghost Arcade Community. Independent project; not affiliated with or > endorsed by Risk Capital Media LLC. ## Separate commercial licenses If you need closed-source modifications, official branding rights, Pro edition features, priority support, or a private commercial arrangement, contact Risk Capital Media LLC through `https://ghostarcade.live`.
