Coincidentally, there is a mode change in Kamen Rider Gaim known as Kiwami Arms. Also coincidentally, YGO Kiwami phonetically resembles Futae No Kiwami from the Rurouni Kenshin franchise and is a punch, which is all the duelists do this episode. The opening sequence (narrated by Téa) references both the TV series Friends and its spin-off series, Joey. Mokuba's beats taking the bus line is based on actual 4Kids dialogue of the same scene.
