# Troubleshooting and Recovery Run local checks from the checkout: ```bash make validate bin/photodockctl ensure printf '{}' | bin/photodockctl request get_redacted_diagnostics ``` If a copy stops, keep the card and destinations connected. Restarting the engine reconciles journaled final/temp evidence. A final is accepted only by full recorded hash; cleanup removes only an exact inode-owned temp. A new plan can safely retry whole files because equal finals become confirmed duplicates. If backup stops, the primary remains preserved. Reconnect the same independently identified drive and replan/retry; never redirect a required backup silently. An authorization cancellation or busy unmount leaves the source mounted. To stop the transient engine after it is idle: ```bash systemctl --user stop "photodock-engine-$(id -u).service" ``` Plugin removal does not delete metadata. After verifying there is no active or recoverable job, a user may separately archive and remove these private local directories: `$XDG_CONFIG_HOME/photodock`, `$XDG_DATA_HOME/photodock`, `$XDG_STATE_HOME/photodock`, and `$XDG_CACHE_HOME/photodock`. Never remove photo destinations as part of troubleshooting.
