ADV Rally Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how ADV Rally, an Android application published by Mobile Head, accesses, collects, uses, shares, protects, retains, and deletes user data. This policy applies to the ADV Rally app, package com.abware.watchdog_client.
Data We Access or Collect
Depending on the features you use and the permissions you grant, ADV Rally may access or collect:
- Location data: precise location, approximate location, GPS provider data, speed, altitude, route points, waypoints, timestamps, and track statistics.
- Background location data: location updates used only while GPS track recording is active.
- Route and rally data: GPX files, tracks, routes.
- Device and app data: app-generated device identifier, app preferences, diagnostic logs, network state, and app settings.
- Files and storage: files you import, open, create, export, or share through the app, including route, GPX files.
- Notification, Bluetooth, and audio access: notification permission and device connection/audio settings used for foreground GPS, navigation, Android Auto, and connected riding workflows.
How We Use Data
ADV Rally uses data only for app functionality and related service operation, including to:
- Show your current location on maps and navigation screens.
- Record, save, import, export, and share tracks, routes, waypoints, and roadbooks.
- Continue GPS track recording while recording is active, including when the app is closed or not in use.
- Provide foreground rally navigation, checkpoint handling, statistics, distance, speed, altitude, and ETA calculations.
- Support foreground Android Auto navigation and map rendering.
- Load map data, route data, and location/navigation services.
- Maintain app preferences, local history, and app reliability.
- Send foreground service notifications while location or navigation features are running.
Location Data Disclosure
ADV Rally requests foreground location permission because location is central to the app's map, route navigation, rally navigation, GPS recording, and Android Auto features. Foreground location is used while the app is visible or while a foreground GPS/navigation service is running.
ADV Rally requests background location permission only for GPS track recording. If you start GPS track recording and grant background location permission, ADV Rally may collect location data to record your track even when the app is closed, the screen is off, or the app is not in use. Background location collection is used only while GPS track recording is active and stops when you stop recording or revoke location permission.
Location data is not used for advertising and is not sold.
Sharing and Third Parties
We do not sell your personal or sensitive user data.
ADV Rally may share data with the following parties only as needed for app functionality:
- Map and navigation providers: Google Maps, Google Play services, Mapbox, and related map SDKs may receive technical, map, device, network, and location-related data needed to render maps, load tiles, provide location services, support navigation functionality, or support GPS track recording.
- File and sharing targets you choose: if you import, export, or share routes, GPX files, roadbooks.
- Legal and safety purposes: data may be disclosed if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or to prevent misuse of the service.
Storage, Retention, and Deletion
ADV Rally stores many items locally on your device, including saved routes, tracks, route files, rally settings, app preferences, and temporary GPS recording data. Local data remains on your device until you delete it in the app, clear the app's storage, uninstall the app, or delete the relevant files.
ADV Rally does not require a general app account for basic local route and navigation use.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards for personal and sensitive user data. These include Android runtime permissions, local app sandboxing, limiting data access to app functionality, and restricting service data use to the purposes described in this policy. No method of electronic storage or network transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
ADV Rally is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through ADV Rally, contact us and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
Your Choices and Controls
- You can deny or revoke foreground or background location, storage, notification, and other permissions in Android settings.
- You can stop GPS track recording inside the app.
- You can use map, route navigation, rally navigation, and Android Auto navigation without granting background location permission.
- You can delete local routes, tracks, imported files, or app data where supported by the app or Android.
- You can uninstall ADV Rally to stop all app access to device data.
- You can contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of data associated with ADV Rally services.
Advertising and Analytics
ADV Rally does not sell personal data and does not use location data for advertising. The app does not enable Google AdSense. If advertising, analytics, or additional SDKs are added in the future, this policy will be updated to describe the data involved.
International Transfers
ADV Rally services and third-party providers may process data in countries other than your country of residence. By using features that transmit data, you understand that your data may be processed where the service providers operate.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the app, service, legal requirements, or data practices change. The updated version will show a new "Last updated" date.
