# Privacy Policy for LeadLeap _Last updated: [Month Day, Year]_ LeadLeap is a Chrome extension designed to help users automatically capture publicly visible information from websites they visit. We respect your privacy and are committed to being transparent about how data is handled. --- ## Data We Capture - **Publicly visible information only.** LeadLeap extracts data that is already displayed on the web pages you visit, such as email addresses, phone numbers, social media links, keywords, or user-defined custom fields (via XPath, CSS selectors, or regex). - **Conditional capture.** Users can set rules (e.g., capture only if a page contains certain keywords) to further control what is captured. - **Custom fields and social media.** Users may configure the extension to capture additional fields or specific social platforms. --- ## How Data is Stored - **Local storage only.** All captured data and user settings (rules, patterns, custom fields, preferences) are stored locally in your browser using Chrome’s built-in storage API. - **No transmission by default.** Data is never sent to external servers or developers without your action. - **User-controlled exports.** You can export your data to CSV files or connect it to third-party automation services (e.g., ViaSocket). Any transmission in these cases is entirely under your control. --- ## Data Validation - If you choose to enable OpenAI integration, data may be validated against prompts you configure. In this case, information you select may be sent to the OpenAI API for processing. This is optional and disabled by default. --- ## Permissions Justification - **activeTab**: To access the current tab so the extension can process visible page content when you interact with it. - **storage**: To save your rules, preferences, and captured data locally. - **scripting & host permissions**: To inject the content script that extracts publicly visible text and links on sites you visit, according to your settings. --- ## What We Do Not Do - We do not collect analytics, tracking data, or browsing history. - We do not sell, rent, or share any data with third parties. - We do not run ads or monetize your captured data. --- ## Your Control - You can disable or enable capture types (emails, phones, social, custom fields) per domain or globally. - You can remove captured data at any time by clearing the extension’s storage. - You choose if and when data is exported or connected to external services. --- ## Contact If you have questions, requests, or feature suggestions, please contact us via our Substack page: [https://agenscrape.substack.com](https://agenscrape.substack.com) ---
