# ReelScore Privacy Policy

## Data ReelScore uses

On Netflix, Prime Video, and Disney+ title pages and supported browse cards, ReelScore reads the visible title, available release year, available runtime, available movie/TV metadata, and a Netflix catalog identifier when present. It uses these fields only to resolve and display a rating.

If a matching IMDb identifier is not cached locally, ReelScore sends that title metadata to the Wikidata API. After you explicitly select **Download IMDb data**, ReelScore downloads the ratings dataset over HTTPS directly from IMDb's official public dataset URL, `https://datasets.imdbws.com/title.ratings.tsv.gz`, and stores its local ratings index, update status, refresh preference, and verified title-ID mappings in Chrome storage/IndexedDB.

## Data ReelScore does not use

ReelScore has no user accounts, developer backend, analytics, advertising, telemetry, or server-side browsing history. It does not read, store, or transmit passwords, cookies, payment information, account watch-history lists, or streaming credentials.

## Your choices

On a fresh installation, ReelScore opens a setup page. The first IMDb dataset download remains user initiated: it starts only after you click **Download IMDb data**. You can select automatic updates every 1–90 days or manual-only updates. You can delete the local IMDb ratings dataset from the extension popup at any time.

## Third parties and attribution

IMDb dataset requests go directly from your browser to IMDb's dataset host. Wikidata mapping requests go directly from your browser to Wikidata. ReelScore does not operate an intermediary service.
