# Privacy Policy for WeatherX Earth **Last updated: May 4, 2026** This Privacy Policy describes how WeatherX Earth ("the app", "we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use our mobile application. By installing or using WeatherX Earth, you agree to the practices described below. --- ## 1. Who we are WeatherX Earth is a weather forecast application developed and operated by Accevate. If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, you can contact us at: **Email:** sidreactorx@mail.com --- ## 2. Information WeatherX Earth collects To provide accurate, location-specific weather forecasts, WeatherX Earth accesses the following information: ### Location data - **Why:** To fetch weather, air quality, and government weather alerts for your current area. - **How:** Through the Android location services API (`ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION` and `ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION`) when you grant permission. - **Where it goes:** Your device's coordinates (latitude / longitude) are sent only to the third-party weather services we use (Open-Meteo, US National Weather Service, RainViewer) to retrieve the forecast for that location. - **What we don't do:** We do not store your location on our own servers (we do not operate any servers), we do not share your location with advertisers, and we do not maintain any history of where you have been. You can deny or revoke location permission at any time in your device's Settings. The app will continue to work for any places you have manually saved. ### Manually saved places When you save a city in the **Places** screen, the city name and its coordinates are stored on your device only (using local storage). You can delete them at any time. ### App preferences Your unit preferences (temperature, wind, distance, pressure), theme choice, and rain-alert threshold are stored on your device only. They are not transmitted to us. ### Cached weather data To make the app fast and to function briefly when you are offline, recent weather responses, hourly forecasts, and air-quality readings are cached locally on your device (typically for a few hours). This cache stays on the device and is removed when you uninstall the app. --- ## 3. Information collected by third parties WeatherX Earth uses the following third-party services to deliver its functionality. Each service has its own privacy practices, summarized below. ### Open-Meteo (weather data) - We send a request containing latitude / longitude to Open-Meteo to fetch weather and air-quality forecasts. - Open-Meteo does not require an API key and does not collect personal information beyond standard HTTP request data (IP address). - Privacy: https://open-meteo.com/en/terms ### US National Weather Service (NWS) — government alerts - For users in the United States, we query the public NWS API for active government weather alerts. The request includes latitude / longitude. - NWS is a US government agency. Privacy: https://www.weather.gov/privacy ### RainViewer (radar tiles) - The optional Radar screen loads weather radar map tiles from RainViewer. Standard HTTP request data (IP address) is sent to their servers. - Privacy: https://www.rainviewer.com/privacy.html ### Google AdMob (advertising) WeatherX Earth is free to use and is supported by advertisements served by Google AdMob, a service of Google LLC. AdMob may collect and process the following: - **Advertising ID** (Android Advertising ID) - **IP address** and approximate location derived from it - **Device information** — device model, OS version, language, network type - **App usage data** — ad impressions, clicks, time spent on ads - **Cookies / similar identifiers** This data is used by Google and its advertising partners to: - Serve advertisements (including personalized ads, where permitted by law) - Measure ad performance and prevent fraud - Provide aggregated analytics to advertisers WeatherX Earth does not receive or store this data directly. All data collection by AdMob is governed by Google's Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy You can manage your advertising preferences any time: - **Android:** Settings → Google → Ads → Reset advertising ID / Opt out of Ads Personalization - **AdMob opt-out:** https://adssettings.google.com --- ## 4. Personalized vs. non-personalized ads WeatherX Earth requests advertisements through Google AdMob. AdMob may show personalized ads based on your interests where you have provided consent through the platform's consent flows (where applicable, such as in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland under GDPR, or for residents of California under CCPA). --- ## 5. Permissions we request WeatherX Earth requests the following Android permissions: - **Internet (`android.permission.INTERNET`)** — required to fetch weather data and load advertisements. - **Fine location (`android.permission.ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION`)** — used to determine your current coordinates so the app can show the local forecast. Optional — the app works for manually saved places without this permission. - **Coarse location (`android.permission.ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION`)** — same purpose, with reduced accuracy. Optional. We do not request access to your contacts, photos, files, microphone, camera, calendar, or other sensors. --- ## 6. Children's privacy WeatherX Earth is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us at sidreactorx@mail.com and we will take appropriate steps to remove such information. The app is configured to comply with COPPA and the Google Play Families Policy where applicable. --- ## 7. Data retention - **On-device data** (saved places, preferences, cached weather) remains until you clear it within the app or uninstall the app. - **Advertising data** collected by AdMob is retained according to Google's data retention policies. - **Weather request logs** at Open-Meteo, NWS, and RainViewer are governed by those services' own retention policies. We do not maintain any servers or databases that store information about you. --- ## 8. Your rights (GDPR, CCPA, and similar) Because WeatherX Earth itself does not collect personal information beyond what is described above (and stores most of it only on your device), the most direct way to exercise your data rights is: - **For ad-related data:** contact Google AdMob — https://policies.google.com/privacy and https://adssettings.google.com - **For on-device data:** uninstall the app or clear app data from Android Settings → Apps → WeatherX Earth → Storage → Clear Data - **For weather-API data:** see the linked privacy policies of Open-Meteo, NWS, and RainViewer above If you have a request that specifically concerns WeatherX Earth, you can email sidreactorx@mail.com. --- ## 9. Security While no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, WeatherX Earth: - Uses HTTPS for all weather and ad requests. - Does not transmit personal information beyond your device's coordinates (only when you allow location access). - Does not maintain user accounts, passwords, or session tokens. --- ## 10. Changes to this Privacy Policy We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be communicated through the app or our store listing. Continued use of WeatherX Earth after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy. --- ## 11.
