# Media Details and Playback

Media detail pages show availability and request actions alongside title
information. Some pages also include controls for playback quality and for
keeping useful information sections open.

## Keep detail sections open

Use the pin segment beside a disclosure control such as **View Cast**, **View
Crew**, **View Artists**, or **Subject Tags** to keep that section open on
future detail pages in the same media category. Use the main control to open or
close a section on the current page.

Pinned sections are saved to your SeerrNG user settings and follow your account
across navigation and devices. Movie, Series, Music, and Book pins are
separate; pinning one category does not open the same section for another.
Collections use the Movie category's pins, and Book Genres uses the Book
category's Subject Tags pin.

## Choose what to play

When playback controls are available, use the quality selector before
playback. Movie and Series pages offer the available video quality, such as HD
or 4K; Music pages offer MP3 or FLAC. The playback action uses the selected
quality. For episodes or tracks, use the selection circles to choose specific
items; with no items selected, playback uses all available items in that
selection.

**Play on Device** creates a temporary playback queue. **Play on your media
server** opens a persistent SeerrNG playlist named **SeerrNG - Current
Selection**, replacing that playlist's previous contents. Playback uses only
the selected quality, so separately cataloged quality versions are not mixed.
