Privacy Policy for IP Whois & Flags

1. Information Collection
The Extension collects and processes the following minimal data:
Website Domains: Only the domain name (e.g., "example.com") of websites you visit
Technical Information: Chrome browser language preference for localization
Cached Data: Domain information temporarily stored locally on your device
We do NOT collect:
Personal identification information
Browsing history
IP addresses
Location data
Sensitive information (logins, financial data, etc.)
2. How We Use Information
To fetch and display website information (IP, location, hosting provider)
To show country flags and WHOIS data
To cache API responses locally for performance
To provide localized content based on browser language

3. Third-Party Services
The Extension uses:
MyIP.ms API: Website domains are sent to their service to retrieve technical information. Review their Privacy Policy
VirusTotal: Only when you click "Safety Check" (domain is submitted)
Whois.com: Only when you click "Whois Lookup" (domain is submitted)
We do NOT share any information with advertising networks or data brokers.

4. Data Storage
All cached data is stored locally using Chrome's chrome.storage.local
Data automatically expires after 1 week (10080 minutes)
You can clear all data by uninstalling the Extension

5. Permissions Explanation
"tabs": Access current website URL to extract domain
"storage": Cache API responses locally
"https://plugin.myip.ms/*": Fetch website information
"https://www.whois.com/*": Open WHOIS lookup
"https://www.virustotal.com/*": Open safety reports

6. Data Security
All communications use HTTPS encryption
No servers are operated by this Extension
No persistent user identifiers are created

7. Children's Privacy
This Extension does not target and is not intended for users under 13 years of age.

Significant updates will be:

Dated at the top of this policy
