# OnThisDay APP Privacy Policy

OnThisDay does not collects, processes, and shares none of your personal data. The app does not have an account, has no server, nor any backend.

The app obtains historical events information from the publicly accessible API of Wikipedia. Your bookmarked events are saved locally on your device and are never shared anywhere else.

Advertising
The app shows you ads using the Google AdMob service. AdMob might collect identifiers and usage information about your device in order to show you ads. This information is collected and used by Google and not by us.

Notifications
If you allow the app to send you notifications, then the app uses the WorkManager class in order to schedule daily notifications for you. These notifications are completely built locally on your device using already cached information. No data is sent to any servers in order to build or send notifications to you.

This app is based on content that is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 license (CC BY-SA 4.0). Any images from Wikimedia Commons used in this app are subject to a different license; please refer to the Wikipedia page of each event for its respective image license.
