Why we do it?

Cremation,a widely accepted practice in the Hindu Tradition is one of the major causes of deforestration. The burning of bodies using wood also induces health risks due to release of harmful toxic particulates and gases. Our team at Arth has decided to provide viable alternative solutions to this rather unexplored venture of health hazard and climate change.

What we do?

We provide an end to end integrated solution comprising of alternative cheimically engineered fuels with reduced emmision potentials and an aparratus design that encourages efficient combustion processes, to cremation grounds for replacing wood as the fuel.

How we do it?

We use a novel cow dung based fuel that has an enhanced calorific value, derived from the waste generated at dairy centres in the city of Delhi. We establish a sophisticated supply chain between the fuel source and the cremation grounds where our improved cremation aparratus is in place to cremate bodies with less pollution to the environment.

Why are we different?

1. Use of well tested engineering principles and technology to provide improved process efficiency 2. Extensive understanding of stakeholders that are highly sensitive to change via social immersion. 3. A strong well rounded team with mentors and support from government organisations.

Social Impact

The use of waste cow dung as a fuel will enable the development of an entrepreneurial attitude amongst our dairy farm and supply chain stakeholders. The low cost alternative to wood will allow people from bottom of the pyramid to carry our cremations without compromising with popular rituals.

Enviornmental Impact

One average cremation takes wood from two fully grown trees. Use of cow dung as an alternative reduces deforestration, thus incurring significant savings in terms of carbon foorprint and environment quality maintenance. The enhanced fuel also achieves lower emmissions, improving the ambient air quality significantly.

Economical Impact

The venture generated a high value in terms of combustion fuel out of waste cow dung , thus providing an extra source of income to the dairy farmers. It also reduces the economic burden for cremation among financially challenged communities.
