How could you have forgotten that oath?\"\n\"Your Highness, O noble Gluvasha Strivozha, let us join hands and cast down that usurper who dared lay claim to the throne!\"\nThe rebels sought to win her over to their cause, urging her to rebel against the new sovereign of the snowy wastes, knowing of her mother's unwavering loyalty to the old Tsar.\nThe eldest daughter of the Strivozhas agreed without hesitation, her emerald eyes gleaming with the same noble compassion that had once shone in her mother's eyes.\n\"If, as you say, my friend, that contemptible false sovereign must be overthrown for the future of our clan,\nThen I shall swear upon the honor of Saint Strivozha: the Vila will stand steadfastly at your side.\"\n\nThen, just as the rebels had hoped, in the months that followed, the Vila princess would regularly denounce the Tsaritsa's actions in public.\nFirst came the expulsion of the palace-appointed observer from her lands; then came the raising of a following without royal sanction.\nUnsurprisingly, the eldest daughter of the Strivozhas had always proven to be every bit as loyal and dependable as her mother, who had been honored as The Pure One.\nAs such, though wary and distrustful of one another, the rebels of the various fae clans were always willing to entrust their secrets to the Vila, leaving her to devise their plans.\nThat is, until the rebels were caught in one fell swoop. It was only then that they learned that the ally they had counted on had long since taken her place at the Tsaritsa's side.\n\nThe rebels, angered by her betrayal and, in panic, began to rail against her for besmirching her mother's good name. However, they were coolly and swiftly dismissed.\n\"Ah, did you not previously praise the loyalty of the Strivozhas and, on that very account, seek an alliance with us?\nAs I said, if Her Majesty ought indeed to be overthrown, the Vila will naturally stand shoulder to shoulder with you in battle.\nExcept... if the wind has ever carried word to you, then you ought to know that Anastasya alone is our sovereign.\nYou are not my lieges, and nor am I your vassal. Why, then, are you even accusing me of betraying your rebellion?\"\n\nAnd thus it came to pass that, beneath the benevolent light that shone upon the frozen earth, the rebellion was brought to a complete end.\nThe Strivozhas were never the enemy of any, and as the histories would record, they upheld their honor and loyalty to the very end.\n\nHere, the tale so finely rendered comes to a close.
