# OpenKara Individual Contributor License Agreement Version 1.0 — 2026-10-05 Thank you for contributing to OpenKara (the "Project"). This Contributor License Agreement ("Agreement") clarifies the rights you grant to the owner of the Project, GitHub user [@thedavidweng](https://github.com/thedavidweng) (the "Maintainer"), in your Contributions. You keep the copyright in your Contributions. This Agreement only gives the Maintainer the licenses described below. You accept this Agreement by commenting on a pull request with the sentence requested by the CLA bot: > I have read the CLA Document and I hereby sign the CLA Your acceptance covers your Contributions in the pull request where you sign and Contributions you submit to the Project after signing. Previously merged Contributions are covered only if you expressly identify them in a separate signed agreement. ## 1. Definitions "You" means the individual who submits a Contribution. "Contribution" means any original work of authorship, including any changes or additions to existing work, that You intentionally submit to the Project for inclusion, for example through a pull request, patch, or issue. ## 2. Copyright license You grant the Maintainer, and recipients of software distributed by the Maintainer, a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, no-charge, royalty-free, irrevocable copyright license to reproduce, prepare derivative works of, publicly display, publicly perform, sublicense, and distribute Your Contributions and such derivative works. ## 3. Right to relicense You agree that the Maintainer may license Your Contributions, alone or as part of the Project, under any license terms, including open source licenses other than the license the Project uses at the time of Your Contribution, and proprietary or commercial licenses. This right passes to any successor or assignee of the Project. ## 4. Patent license You grant the Maintainer, and recipients of software distributed by the Maintainer, a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, no-charge, royalty-free, irrevocable patent license to make, have made, use, offer to sell, sell, import, and otherwise transfer Your Contributions, where the license covers only those patent claims licensable by You that are necessarily infringed by Your Contribution alone or by its combination with the Project. ## 5. Your representations You represent that: - Each Contribution is Your original creation, and You are legally entitled to grant the licenses above. - If Your employer has rights to intellectual property You create, You have received permission to make the Contribution on its behalf, or Your employer has waived those rights. - Your Contribution does not include code copied from third-party sources under licenses that would prevent the relicensing described in section 3, such as GPL or AGPL code you do not own. If a Contribution includes any third-party material, You identify it and its license in the pull request. ## 6. No warranty Unless required by applicable law or agreed to in writing, You provide Your Contributions "as is", without warranties or conditions of any kind. You are not expected to provide support for Your Contributions. ## 7. Notification You agree to notify the Maintainer if You become aware of any facts or circumstances that would make these representations inaccurate.
