**Privacy Policy for Turbo Dash**

Turbo Dash ("the Extension") is committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your personal information. This Privacy Policy outlines how the extension handles data on your device.

### 1. **Information stored on your device**
Turbo Dash stores your dashboard preferences locally in your browser using Chrome’s extension storage APIs (`chrome.storage.sync` and `chrome.storage.local`). This may include:

- Your display name, theme, and widget toggles
- Quick links, icons, todos, habits (including completion history/streaks), and notepad content
- Optional weather coordinates
- Roadmap vote preferences on the settings page

This data stays in your browser (and may sync across your Chrome profile when sync storage is available). Turbo Dash does not operate a backend that collects or sells your personal information.

### 2. **Location and weather**
If you enable the weather widget, the extension may request your browser’s geolocation permission to determine approximate latitude/longitude. Coordinates can also be entered manually in Settings. Weather conditions are fetched from the third-party **Open-Meteo** API using those coordinates. Location is used only to display weather and is not sent to Turbo Dash servers (there are none).

### 3. **Open tabs (optional import)**
The extension may use the Chrome `tabs` permission so you can import currently open tabs as quick links (during onboarding or from Settings). Tab titles and URLs are read only when you click **Import open tabs**, and only http/https pages are added. That data stays in your local extension settings and is not sent to Turbo Dash servers.

### 4. **Other third-party requests**
Depending on features you use, the extension may request:

- **Open-Meteo** — weather data
- **DuckDuckGo icon service** — favicons for your saved links
- **Google Search** — only when you submit a query from the optional search bar
- **Google Fonts** — UI typography

These services receive only what is needed for the request (for example, coordinates for weather, or a domain name for a favicon).

### 5. **Data security**
Settings and notes are stored by Chrome on your device. Import/export backups are files you create and control. Keep backups private if they contain personal notes or links.

### 6. **User consent**
By using Turbo Dash, you acknowledge and agree to this Privacy Policy. Granting geolocation is optional and only needed for automatic weather location. The tabs permission is used only for the optional open-tab import feature.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Significant changes will be reflected in the extension’s changelog/settings version notes when practical.
