# Privacy Policy — Yomikata Furigana

This document describes how the **Yomikata Furigana** browser extension (“the extension”) handles information when you use it.

## Summary

- The extension **does not collect personal data**.
- The extension **does not send your data to our servers or to any third party**. All processing runs **on your device**.
- The extension may **save your own settings locally** in the browser (for example, enabled state, reading mode, display options). This data **stays on your device** and is **not transmitted** to us.

## Data we do not collect

We do **not** collect names, email addresses, account identifiers, browsing history as a separate log, passwords, payment information, or other personally identifiable information through this extension.

## How settings are stored

Preferences you choose in the popup or options page (such as furigana mode, theme, or related UI settings) can be stored using the browser’s **built‑in extension storage** (for example, Chrome `chrome.storage.sync` / `chrome.storage.local`, depending on implementation). That storage:

- is **controlled by your browser**,
- remains **on your devices** when sync is used according to your browser account,
- is **not sent to us** as application telemetry or analytics.

## External services

The extension **does not** require you to sign in and **does not** call our backend for core features. Furigana processing uses **bundled libraries and data** shipped with the extension package, **not** remote code execution for that purpose.

## Children

This extension is a general reading aid. It is not directed at collecting data from anyone, including children.

## Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will be kept in this repository file. Material changes may be reflected in extension release notes when applicable.
