The Extension requests the following permissions to function properly:

- **Purpose:** To save your privacy preferences (blur settings, intensity levels, etc.) locally on your device
- **Data Stored:** Your chosen settings for blur features (on/off states, blur intensity)
- **Storage Location:** Chrome's local storage API (synced across your Chrome profile if signed in)
- **No External Access:** This data never leaves your browser

### 2. Active Tab Permission
- **Purpose:** To access the currently active WhatsApp Web tab and apply blur effects
- **What We Access:** DOM elements on web.whatsapp.com pages only
- **Processing:** All blur processing happens locally in real-time
- **No Data Collection:** We read the page structure but never collect or transmit content

### 3. Scripting Permission
- **Purpose:** To inject the content script that applies blur effects to WhatsApp Web
- **Scope:** Limited exclusively to whatsapp.com domains
- **Function:** Adds CSS classes to blur sensitive elements based on your preferences

### 4. Host Permissions (*.whatsapp.com/*)
- **Purpose:** To allow the Extension to run only on official WhatsApp Web domains
- **Limitation:** Extension cannot and will not access any other websites
- **Safety:** Ensures the Extension only works where intended
