Really feeble. Finally went pen to paper after guess four and it became very obvious. Mandy told me their starting word ("style") and the result (nothing lit) when i mentioned i was stumped. Which spoiled it a little for me but I don't think it fully spoiled the puzzle, so not marking it as such.
