# Codebase onboarding
Read [analysis basics](../../shared/references/analysis-basics.md). Resolve instructions, inspect top-level structure, manifests, configuration, entry points, tests, and development commands. Selectively inspect central abstractions, state, integrations, extension points, and one or two representative flows. Verify cited paths and symbols. Stop once purpose, boundaries, entry points, workflows, change locations, reading order, and limitations are clear; do not produce an exhaustive inventory or architecture audit. Deliver a concise mental model, system map, flows, workflow, extension locations, reading order, contradictions, and limitations.

When a high-level visual would materially improve orientation, read
[diagramming](../../shared/references/diagramming.md) and provide the verified
major components, boundaries, entry points, runtime relationships, state
ownership, external systems, representative flows, extension or change
locations, and uncertainty relevant to the mental model.
