# Privacy Policy – AI Comment Helper

_Last updated: 2026-10-08_

AI Comment Helper is a browser extension that helps you write comments on social media using the DeepSeek API.

## What data is handled
- **Your DeepSeek API key** is stored only in your browser (`chrome.storage.local`). It is never sent anywhere except to `api.deepseek.com` to authenticate your own requests.
- **When you click a button in the extension** (and only then), the following is sent to the DeepSeek API (`https://api.deepseek.com`): the text you wrote in the comment box, the visible text of the post or comment you are replying to, and any instructions/settings you entered (tone, "about me").
- **Settings** (tone, site list, "about me") are stored locally in your browser.

## What we do NOT do
- We do not run any server. The developer does not receive, collect, store or sell any of your data.
- No analytics, tracking or advertising.
- Nothing is sent automatically. Data leaves your browser only when you press a button in the extension.

## Third parties
Requests are processed by DeepSeek under their own privacy policy: https://platform.deepseek.com/downloads/DeepSeek%20Open%20Platform%20Privacy%20Policy.html
