# MSX Information Agent Plugin An [Agent Plugins 1.0](https://agent-plugins.org/) package that adds the `msx-information` skill to compatible AI agents, including GitHub Copilot in Visual Studio Code. The skill works with Microsoft Sales Experience (MSX) data in Dynamics 365. It can sign in, inspect the current account, find milestones and opportunities, view earnings, explore CRM entities, and prepare confirmed record updates. ## Requirements - Windows on a Microsoft Entra joined device - Node.js 22 or newer - Git and npm - Access to `microsoftsales.crm.dynamics.com` - Visual Studio Code with agent plugins enabled (`chat.plugins.enabled`) The skill downloads and builds [msx-cli](https://github.com/MoimHossain/msx-cli) in a workspace-local `.msx-cli` directory the first time it is needed. ## Install the Marketplace ### GitHub Copilot App In a Copilot app session, register this GitHub repository as a marketplace: ```text /plugin marketplace add tvriesde/msx-skill-plugin ``` You only need to register the marketplace once. To verify that it is available, run: ```text /plugin marketplace list ``` The registered marketplace appears as `msx-plugins`. Then open the **Install plugin** dialog and enter: ```text msx-information@msx-plugins ``` Start a new Copilot session after installation so the skill is loaded. ### Copilot CLI Register and inspect the marketplace from a terminal: ```powershell copilot plugin marketplace add tvriesde/msx-skill-plugin copilot plugin marketplace browse msx-plugins ``` Install the plugin from the registered marketplace: ```powershell copilot plugin install msx-information@msx-plugins ``` Confirm that it is installed: ```powershell copilot plugin list ``` The marketplace is defined by [.github/plugin/marketplace.json](.github/plugin/marketplace.json). Its registration name is `msx-plugins`, which is why the plugin specification is `msx-information@msx-plugins`. ## Install in Visual Studio Code Visual Studio Code can install this plugin directly without registering the marketplace: 1. Open the Command Palette in Visual Studio Code. 2. Run **Chat: Install Plugin From Source**. 3. Enter the full Git repository URL: ```text https://github.com/tvriesde/msx-skill-plugin.git ``` 4. Review the repository and confirm the installation. Do not enter `tvriesde/msx-skill-plugin` in the regular marketplace installation prompt. That syntax is interpreted as a marketplace reference, and `tvriesde` is not a configured marketplace. The installed skill appears in **Chat: Configure Skills**. To enable, disable, update, or uninstall it, open the Extensions view and search for `@agentPlugins`. ## Test Locally Before publishing, register this checkout in your Visual Studio Code user settings: ```json "chat.pluginLocations": { "C:\\code\\msx-skill-plugin": true } ``` Start a new chat and ask for MSX information, for example: - `Sign me in to MSX.` - `Show my active milestones.` - `Find the opportunity named Contoso renewal.` - `Show my earnings for 2026.` - `Which fields are available on an opportunity?` ## Security The local token cache is private. The skill instructs the agent not to expose, copy, or inspect its contents. Read operations run directly; record creation and updates require explicit user confirmation immediately before execution. Plugins can contain instructions and executable integrations. Users should review this repository before installing it. ## Release Updates Use semantic versions in [plugin.json](plugin.json). Bump the `version` before publishing an update so Visual Studio Code can detect the new release. ## Package Layout ```text plugin.json .github/ plugin/ marketplace.json skills/ msx-information/ SKILL.md references/ msx-earnings.prompt.md msx-login.prompt.md msx-milestones.prompt.md msx-opportunities.prompt.md msx-query.prompt.md msx-update.prompt.md ```
