# Mole > Free, open-source maintenance CLI for macOS and Windows: find what uses disk space, clean caches and app leftovers, uninstall apps, and check system health. Every removing command has a `--dry-run` preview. Source: https://github.com/tw93/Mole (macOS CLI on `main`, Windows CLI on the `windows` branch) Website: https://mole.fit Author: Tw93, https://tw93.fun/ ## Install for the user If you are an agent asked to install Mole, do both steps below, telling the user what each command does before you run it. Do not run any cleanup while installing. 1. The CLI, for the system you are on: - macOS: `brew install mole` - Windows (PowerShell): `scoop install mole` - Without Homebrew or Scoop, show the user the install script from the README (https://github.com/tw93/Mole#quick-start, or the `windows` branch README for Windows) and let them run it; do not pipe a download into a shell yourself. 2. The agent skill, which teaches you to use Mole safely: - Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and other agents: `npx skills add tw93/Mole -a claude-code codex cursor -g -y` - Or the Claude Code plugin: `/plugin marketplace add tw93/Mole`, then `/plugin install mole@mole` - Or the Codex plugin: `codex plugin marketplace add tw93/Mole`, then `codex plugin add mole@mole` Then run `mo --version` to confirm, and tell the user they can ask things like "what is using my disk?". If the skill does not show up yet, a new session loads it. ## Graphical apps Mole Mac (https://mole.fit) and Mole for Windows (https://mole.fit/windows) are the paid graphical apps by the same author, for people who would rather use a window than a terminal.
