--- name: slopspec description: "Record agreed future work in the repository's tracker when asked to file an issue, track this for later, save a plan for another session, or break work into tickets; not for in-session checklists or doing the work now." --- # Slopspec Preserve settled intent in the smallest artifact a fresh agent can resume. Do not implement the plan or invent a second backlog. - Resolve the destination and write authority with [tracker-selection.md](references/tracker-selection.md). - Choose the minimum useful hierarchy with [artifact-shapes.md](references/artifact-shapes.md). - Use the repository's templates and terminology; [writing defaults](../slopscriber/references/style.md) fill gaps. Without authorization and an unambiguous target, recommend one destination and shape, show the draft, and ask one question to confirm it. A local plan directory is a destination only when the user or repository chose it; do not offer it as an alternative. Search for existing work before creating artifacts. Update the canonical item when the request started there, preserving its agreed criteria and metadata. For multiple tickets, each one delivers a behavior through every layer it needs; no foundation, data-model, layer, or test-only tickets. Block only where a ticket cannot start or verify without behavior another ticket ships; fixtures, stubs, or a shared contract do not remove that dependency, and choosing to verify through another ticket does not create one. Show the delivered behavior and blocking edges before publication unless that decomposition is already approved. Create blockers before dependents. Use native hierarchy/dependency operations when available, otherwise explicit links in the same tracker. Re-read the published artifacts to confirm content, metadata, relationships, and links. Return the canonical URL or key, what can start now, and any blocker. When publication is unavailable, return a paste-ready draft for the intended tracker, the exact missing access, and that its published key or URL is the resume point; do not switch trackers or save local plan files.
