# Lighting Lighting is the basis of almost every virtual scene. While the 3D geometry defines the shape of your content, lighting defines colors and final look of your objects. The basic lighting workflow in UNIGINE is to set up [Environment](../../editor2/lighting/environment.md) and [light sources](../../editor2/lighting/lights/index.md) to light up the scene, combination of Lightmaps, Voxel Probes and postprocessing for [global illumination](../../editor2/lighting/gi/index.md) and Environment Probes for [reflections](../../editor2/lighting/reflections.md). ![](../../objects/lights/probes.gif) ## Articles in This Section - [Environment](../../editor2/lighting/environment.md) - [Light Sources](../../editor2/lighting/lights/index.md) - [Shadows](../../editor2/lighting/lights/shadows.md) - [Global Illumination](../../editor2/lighting/gi/index.md) - [Bake Lighting Window](../../editor2/lighting/gi/bake_lighting/index.md) - [Lightmapping](../../editor2/lighting/gi/lightmaps.md) - [Voxel-Based GI](../../editor2/lighting/gi/voxel_probes.md) - [Environment Probes](../../editor2/lighting/gi/env_probes.md) - [Light Meter](../../editor2/lighting/light_meter.md) - [Reflections](../../editor2/lighting/reflections.md)
