Once Forumactif Edge has been installed, the ability to check for updates on Github becomes available.

When you click the "check for updates" button, a request is sent to the Github repository to see if your forum is up to date. If you are on the latest version nothing will happen, however if an update is found, FAE will begin to install it on your forum. Updates may include bug fixes or new features for Forumactif Edge, be sure to read over the update notes provided by the updater for more information.

## Alerts
Forumactif Edge comes default with a notification system for updates. When a new update is available, the founder will be notified with a small alert that displays once per session, depending on if there are any updates at that time. These alerts do not display when Forumactif Edge is up to date.
