# Australian Digital Technologies authoring review Reviewed 21 October 2026. All 38 Foundation–Year 6 standards are Full in the [coverage report](acara-v9-digital-technologies-coverage.md), with 93 links across 74 topics. This batch adds 38 Computing topics and extends no existing topic content. ## Shared framework and reuse Computing gains six generic domains alongside Artificial Intelligence: - Digital Systems - Data Representation - Algorithms & Programming - Designing Digital Solutions - Digital Tools & Collaboration - Privacy & Security These domains apply across countries. No subject is added. Three existing topics move from Artificial Intelligence to a matching domain, retaining their IDs, content, alignments and prerequisite links: | Topic | ID | Domain | |---|---|---| | Computers in Everyday Life | `mt_XbGfVhfiUz` | Digital Systems | | Step-by-Step Instructions | `mt__p5n8z5soJ` | Algorithms & Programming | | Data and Information for Computers | `mt_kH1DzOPsXG` | Data Representation | Existing Mathematics topics teach number algorithms with decisions and repetition; the new Computing topics teach implementation, input, variables and testing in visual programs. Existing English topics supply digital creation, navigation, research and presentations. General design, citizenship and safety topics are reused; new topics add digital-specific design, collaboration and privacy skills. The 74 mapped topics include 36 existing and 38 new topics. Required practical skills use observable tasks: operating devices and peripherals, creating and testing programs, comparing designs, changing account settings, logging in, co-editing documents and planning digital projects. The six previously Full rows were rechecked against their linked topic content. ## Prerequisite review Understanding internal components does not require peripheral-device skills. Writing a first sequence program does not require prior branching and repetition. Those relationships are soft support; the hard prerequisites use basic components and sequential instructions instead. Later topics introduce loops and decisions. ## Verification and scope The live authoring graph, persisted mirror, database and export agree. Existing IDs, curriculum links and prerequisite pairs are preserved. The batch adds 98 prerequisites; 0 existing prerequisites change. All new prerequisites are age-ordered and all new hard prerequisites have Australian or universal alignments. There are no cycles, age-span warnings or new hard prerequisite age conflicts. Derived centrality matches the final graph. The 1,049 teaching-research records are unchanged; 851 topics lack research. Design and Technologies still has 26 gaps in the current Australian scope. PE, Arts and Languages remain excluded.
