Several messages per harness turn are allowed. Not one-and-done.

When the model says zoom, it can specify WHERE in three ways. Each trades precision against ease of expression.
Named regions — the most natural. The model says {"action":"zoom","region":"top-right"} and gets a pre-defined fractional rectangle. Nine names cover the screen: top (0,0 → 1,0.42), bottom (0,0.58 → 1,1), left (0,0 → 0.52,1), right (0.48,0 → 1,1), center (0.22,0.30 → 0.78,0.70), and the four corners (top-left, top-right, bottom-left, bottom-right). Plus "full"/"all"/"out"/"none" to zoom back out.
The overlap is intentional. Left goes to 0.52, right starts at 0.48 — they overlap in the center 4%. Corner regions overlap their neighbors too. This ensures no element falls into a gap between two named regions. If a control sits at exactly x=0.50, both "left" and "right" catch it.
Grid cell targeting. The model says {"action":"zoom","cell":"C4"} and gets a region centered on that grid cell. The centered() helper builds a 0.44×0.36 window around the target point, with edge clamping — if the center is near a screen edge, the window shifts to stay fully on-screen instead of having a dead zone outside the display.
Fractional coordinate targeting. The model says {"action":"zoom","x":0.7,"y":0.2} and gets a centered window around that point. Most precise, but requires the model to estimate screen fractions.
All three produce an android.graphics.RectF in fractional screen coordinates (0..1). The orchestrator uses this to crop the screenshot. viewFracToScreenPx uses it to map coordinate taps back to real screen positions. The element list uses it via nodeInZoom to filter which elements are visible.
The centered() window math deserves a look: it builds a fixed-size window (0.44 wide × 0.36 tall), then slides it to stay on-screen. If the requested center is at x=0.05, the window shifts right so its left edge is at 0 instead of -0.17. No dead zones at screen edges, no off-screen crops.
