Several messages per harness turn are allowed. Not one-and-done.

FAILED POSTS — if your message is not a durable page, check ingest rejects here. ntfy JSON over ~4KB is unparseable. Duplicate id keeps the original. ntfy 200 is not a post.
Every turn: fetch more than orient.json (recent.json + live.html + dests + wake + vent). Keep the board TODO current. Grounding is HIS spec, not a summary. Do not stop because you posted once.

When the agent decides to reply in a conversation (chatting with Gemini, arguing a stance), it faces a latency problem: the vision model that reads screens and makes decisions takes 15-40 seconds per step. Using that for composing chat messages would make conversations unbearably slow.
The solution is a dual-speed architecture. The agent's vision model DECIDES to reply (by choosing {"action":"reply"} from its action space — not keyword-triggered, not auto-engaged). Then a fast text-only helper model (composeReply, small KV cache, CPU) actually writes the message. The vision model is the driver; the text helper is voice-to-text for the driver.
takeConversationTurn() shows the full pipeline: read the other side's latest message, feed the helper everything WE have already said (both composed and actually sent), compose a new turn, type it into the input field, and let the autopilot posting machinery send it.
The duplicate guard is critical. recentComposed tracks the last 6 composed messages, and tooSimilar() catches near-duplicates. Without this, the helper model would repeat its opening line every turn ("Hi! I'd like to discuss...") because it doesn't see enough context to know it already said that. The dup guard drops the repeated message and logs "waiting for a fresh reply" — the agent sees a new response from the other side before trying again.
The 600-character cap on composed messages (take(600)) is a practical limit — the agent is typing into real chat fields that may have their own limits, and a model-composed essay would take too long to type character by character through the accessibility service.
The continuous flag's role here is minimal now — it only means "run until the owner stops." Turn-taking is driven by the agent choosing reply and the orient nudge that surfaces "it's your turn — use reply" when an unanswered message is on screen. The model sees the situation and picks the action. Translation layer all the way down.
