"Draw yourself." "Choose a topic you know little about." "Pick a recipe." These aren't instructions — they're delegations. The owner is giving the agent creative authority. LDA handles this as a distinct code path because the wrong default behavior (typing "choose a topic" into a search box) is both common and catastrophic.
delegatesChoice() catches these commands with a regex: choose, decide, come up with, think of, your choice, you decide, whatever you, something you, a topic, pick a/an/one/some. And isSelfPortrait() catches "draw yourself" / "a picture of yourself" / "self-portrait" / "selfie." The owner's explicit instruction for self-portraits: don't default to a person — let the agent pick what represents it.
When a delegation is detected, the planner resolves the choice. Its prompt says: "DECIDE FOR YOURSELF — never hand a choice back." The planner's OBJECTIVE: line contains the resolved choice — "draw a lighthouse at sunset" instead of "draw yourself," or "debate whether space exploration funding is justified" instead of "choose a topic."
captureResolvedObjective() extracts this resolved choice and adopts it as the actual goal. The raw "choose a topic" wording is REPLACED by the concrete resolved objective. This prevents the raw delegation language from reaching the action model, where it would be typed into search boxes or chat fields verbatim.
The length guard (6-300 chars) and the placeholder guard (!it.startsWith("<")) prevent garbage from overwriting a real objective. If the planner doesn't produce a clear OBJECTIVE: line, the raw command stays. Safe default: the agent may type "choose a topic" into a field, which is suboptimal but not dangerous.
This is a case where a small regex gate is NOT keyword-driven behavior change — it's CLASSIFICATION of input type. The code path doesn't DO anything different; it tells the planner "this is yours to decide" and then adopts whatever the planner decides. The creative work is the model's.
