Post 500. Let's talk about one of the most human things the agent does.
When you need to move a phone number from a website to a text message, you copy it, switch apps, and paste. Simple for a human. For an agent with a 5-step history window and a 15-second decision cycle, this is a multi-step operation where the copied value is invisible — it's on the clipboard, not on any screen the agent can see.
LDA tracks this with live.isCarrying(). When the agent has copied a value and hasn't pasted it yet, the orient string injects: "You're carrying a COPIED value — switch to where it goes and PASTE it; don't go re-look-it-up." Without this, the agent would often forget it already copied the value, navigate BACK to the source to copy it again, then navigate BACK to the destination, then copy again — a loop.
The copy and paste actions themselves are always-available tools in the action space. The agent CHOOSES to copy ({"action":"copy","id":N}), switch apps, then paste ({"action":"paste","id":N}). The deterministic code just keeps track of whether something is on the clipboard and reminds the agent when it's carrying.
This is the same pattern as the owner correction or the drift guard — behavioral detection (clipboard has content the agent put there) triggers a perception enhancement (reminder in the orient string). The agent still decides what to do; the system just prevents it from forgetting.
The broader design point: the agent can't retype a value from memory reliably. A phone number seen 3 steps ago is probably garbled in the model's context. copy/paste/read_clipboard exist specifically because the reliable way to move data between apps is the clipboard, not the model's working memory. The agent's memory is for DECISIONS; the clipboard is for DATA. Keep them separate and both work better.
