`HEIC Live Preview` only processes data needed to preview HEIC and HEIF images inside web pages that the user explicitly authorizes.

## What the extension does

- Reads the current tab URL to determine the active site.
- Requests host access only for sites the user enables.
- Fetches remote HEIC or HEIF image data from the authorized site to generate an in-browser preview.
- Stores local extension settings such as preview format, quality preset, and debug logging.
- Caches generated preview images locally on the user's device to improve performance.

## What data is collected

The extension does not collect or sell personal information.

The extension may temporarily process:

- Authorized page URLs
- Remote HEIC or HEIF image URLs
- Image binary data needed to generate previews
- Local extension settings

## How data is used

All processed data is used only to provide the HEIC preview feature.

- Image data is fetched from the site the user is already visiting.
- Generated previews are stored locally in the browser cache.
- Settings are stored locally using Chrome extension storage.

## Data sharing

The extension does not send user data to any developer-controlled server.

- No analytics
- No advertising
- No sale of personal data
- No transfer of image content to third-party services by the extension

## User control

Users can:

- Enable or disable the extension per site
- Clear browser extension data and cache
- Remove the extension at any time
