Overview

JoyBrowser Bridge is a companion Chrome extension for the JoyBrowser Desktop application. It is designed with a privacy-first approach — all data stays on your local machine.

Data Collection

We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data.

This extension:

• Does NOT send any data to external servers
• Does NOT use analytics or telemetry
• Does NOT track browsing history
• Does NOT collect user identifiers
• Does NOT use cookies for tracking

How the Extension Works

JoyBrowser Bridge communicates exclusively with the locally-running JoyBrowser Desktop application via a WebSocket connection on localhost (127.0.0.1:4491). This communication never leaves your machine.

The extension:

• Detects tab activations and page loads to maintain a local page mapping
• Builds semantic snapshots of web pages (interactive elements, ARIA roles, text labels) when requested by the local desktop app
• Stores a session configuration (session ID and token) in chrome.storage.local on your device

Data Storage

The only data stored by this extension is:

• Session configuration (session ID and authentication token) stored locally via chrome.storage.local
• This data never leaves your device

Third-Party Services

This extension does not communicate with any third-party services. All communication is between the extension and the locally-running JoyBrowser Desktop application on your machine.

Permissions

• tabs: Used to detect tab switches and page load events
• storage: Used to persist session configuration locally
• host_permissions (<all_urls>): Used to inject content scripts for building semantic page snapshots on any website you visit
