Bookmark+ is committed to protecting your privacy. This extension operates entirely on your local device and does not collect, transmit, or share any personal information with external parties.

## Information We Collect

### Bookmark Data (Stored Locally Only)
- **What:** Website URLs, page titles, custom tags, and folder organization that you save as bookmarks
- **Purpose:** To provide bookmark management functionality
- **Storage:** All data remains on your local device using Chrome's storage API
- **Sharing:** Never shared with anyone

### OpenGraph Metadata (Optional Feature)
- **What:** Website thumbnails, descriptions, and titles from sites you bookmark
- **Purpose:** To display rich previews for enhanced bookmark visualization
- **How:** Fetched directly from websites when you bookmark them (if available)
- **Storage:** Cached locally on your device only
- **Sharing:** Never shared with anyone

### Visit Count Data
- **What:** Number of times you've clicked on each bookmark
- **Purpose:** For internal bookmark management (not displayed in UI)
- **Storage:** Stored locally on your device
- **Sharing:** Never shared with anyone

## Information We Do NOT Collect
- Personal identification information (name, email, address, etc.)
- Browsing history beyond bookmarks you explicitly save
- Authentication credentials or passwords
- Financial information
- Location data
- User activity tracking (mouse movements, keystrokes, etc.)
- Any data from websites you visit but don't bookmark

## Data Storage and Security
- All data is stored locally on your device using Chrome's secure storage API
- No data is transmitted to external servers or cloud services
- No analytics, tracking, or telemetry systems are used
- You have complete control over your data at all times

## Data Sharing
We do not share, sell, rent, or otherwise disclose any user data to third parties. Your bookmark data never leaves your device.

## Third-Party Services
The extension may access:
- **Google Fonts:** For typography (CSS files only, no data collection)
- **Website Favicons:** From original sites or fallback services for bookmark icons
- **OpenGraph Data:** Directly from websites you bookmark for rich previews

These services do not receive any of your personal data or bookmark information.

## User Rights and Data Control
- **Export:** You can export all your bookmark data at any time
- **Delete:** You can delete individual bookmarks or all data instantly
- **Control:** You can disable OpenGraph metadata collection in extension settings

## Children's Privacy
This extension does not knowly collect any information from children under 13 years of age.

## Changes to This Policy
We will notify users of any material changes to this privacy policy through extension updates.
