Jim Rockford is an easygoing private investigator is this television series. He was formerly convicted (and later pardoned) for an armed robbery he didn't commit. He lives in an exterior battered (and very well appointed on the interior) mobile home on the Malibu beach. The cases he takes usually turn out to be more difficult and dangerous than he initially imagines, and he often ends up in situations over his head. Occasionally, his father Joseph (aka Rocky), a retired truck driver, shows up to help him.
