One soon learns that something from his past is pursuing Inspector Nick Cafmeyer. He wears a heavy burden from his childhood. And then his past catches up with him and with unexpected brutality. Nick's brother had disappeared as a boy without a trace. Cafmeyer always blamed Ivan Plettinckx, a known pedophile living in the neighborhood. Police never found proof against the man and had set him free. Ivan proves his vindictiveness sending nasty messages to Cafmeyer. Years later, as a police inspector, Nick is in charge of investigating the kidnapping and violence against a family whose dead son is found in the branches of a tree, naked and with horrible bite marks. Neither father nor mother, both in a shock of which come mentally ravaged, want to talk about what happened. All indications are that the abductor is a brutal mental-deranged serial offender. The kidnapper brought the father to rape his own son. The investigations are in full swing, thereby Nick goes its own way - And what if the case had anything to do with Ivan Plettick? As Nick searches the room of the diseased Ivan, he finds a series of disturbing videos. That leads him directly to his childhood. There, the key for the terrible events seems to lie.
