The Vacuum Freezer is a Multiblock Machine required to reach the highest tier machinery and metals. It is used to cool the Hot Ingots produced by the higher tier metals in the Industrial Blast Furnace. Most notably, these are Kanthal, Tungsten, and Tungstensteel.
Because Kanthal is produced as Hot Kanthal Ingots, a Vacuum Freezer is required for the crafting of Heating Coils.

The Vacuum Freezer can also be used as an energy-intensive but extremely fast means of cooling the Coolant Cells used in a Nuclear Reactor.

The Vacuum Freezer is the fourth most expensive machine in GregTech, behind only a high-tier Industrial Blast Furnace, the Distillation Tower, and the Fusion Reactor.
