Anticipated Outcomes


Result #1: Curriculum and Program Development

    The 15 HDIs will develop and use revised curricula in one department within the Faculty of Science and one department within a second faculty that provides for credit accumulation and multiple entry and exit points for learners, and conforms to the current National Qualifications Framework (NQF) guidance.

Result # 2: Student Academic Development

    The 15 HDIs will assess all first-year students and provide an appropriate compensatory (bridging) program for at least 75 percent of those students requiring help in key strategic areas of Math, English, Science, and study skills.

Result #3: Management and Administrative Systems

    The 15 HDIs will acquire the management, administrative, and leadership capacity to effectively develop and implement three-year rolling institutional plans.

Result #4: Linkage Grants

    A total of nearly $7 million in linkage grants with U.S. institutions will be awarded and implemented, with each HDI involved in at least one linkage arrangement, by Year 5 of the project.

Result #5: Institution-specific Activities

    Fifteen well-developed proposals from HDIs will be approved for USAID direct funding and successfully implemented.

Result #6: Institution-specific Activities

    Seventy-five percent of the HDIs will be submitting at least 75 percent of TELP accounts payable to USAID for reimbursement on a quarterly basis.

Result #7: Policy Implementation

    A minimum of four studies or policy implementation plans will be completed, two workshops will be conducted in governance related areas, and five summits on higher education will be held.
