Yes Straws

That is why we have created compostable YesStraws: natural drinking straws from cane and wheat stems which are meant to replace harmful plastic products.

We’re a family owned and operated business - Our designs are inspired by the drawings of our daughter who is an artistic 4th grader and we work hard to recreate it in our fabric patterns! Our team who makes the wraps are all very passionate about the environment as well as first generation grad students and we are very proud to support their tuition.

Our search for natural, powerful ingredients led us to our signature, coconut-powered CocoClean Technology. Our non-toxic, plant-based formulas harness the power of coconuts and other biodegradable elements, creating a clean that’s uniquely tough on grit and grime but gentle on you, your skin, and our earth.

Strawesome

The world is plagued with plastic debris and toxins in our oceans and water ways, on and in the soil of our land, and in the bodies of animals and humans. It is a major problem. Rather than just give up and “deal with it”, Strawesome was born to do something about it. Since March 2009, we have been working towards sufficient awareness and action to forever eliminate the need for single-use plastic drinking straws.

Vejibag

Created in 2013 by Sally Erickson, Vejibag was born out of necessity. She needed to keep veggies as fresh as possible from the time they were picked in her year-round, Eastport, Maine greenhouse until they were taken home by customers from the local co-op market. And she wanted to do that without creating plastic waste or using toxic chemicals. After some research Sally discovered what produce managers in grocery stores have known for a long time. Moisture-loving vegetables keep best in a cool damp environment. And she discovered that our grandmothers wrapped vegetables in moistened tea towels or burlap to keep them crisp and delicious. She combined those two ideas into a handy organic cotton bag, was able to eliminate the plastic and come up with a beautiful result: the Vejibag.
