Actually at level 12 I preferred Banded armor because it's so much lighter
than Bronze. The only real upgrade is to try to get Barbed or other magical
armor, but at level 12 you'll have to suffer through several levels without
unless you're the god of trading. (or have a high level to... ungh... twink
with)
